Miért aggódnak a hollywoodi filmkészítők az AI bevezetése miatt

Andrew Ng recently spoke at the Sundance Film Festival on a panel about AI, aiming to understand the entertainment industry's anxieties and build bridges between the tech and film communities. Sundance serves as a premier showcase for independent films, where many attendees expressed deep discomfort regarding AI's role in the future of cinema. The panel included notable figures like Daniel Dae Kim, Dan Kwan, Jonathan Wang, and Janet Yang, highlighting the intersection of award-winning artistry and emerging technology. Hollywood's discomfort stems from a cultural divide regarding intellectual property and labor. While the software industry values open source and an open internet, the entertainment industry relies on intellectual property as its core economic engine. Furthermore, the current wave of technological change feels forced upon Hollywood, unlike previous shifts like social media, which felt more optional. Negative messaging from tech leaders describing AI as an unstoppable force that will wipe out jobs has further discouraged enthusiastic adoption within the industry. Despite the tension, Hollywood recognizes that AI is inevitable and that adaptation is necessary to maintain its status as a global entertainment center. The industry is no stranger to disruption from radio, TV, and streaming, but the path forward with AI remains unclear. While interests are not always aligned—especially regarding the use of creative works for training models—there is common ground in the need for deepfake guardrails and upskilling for displaced workers. Ultimately, there is hope that AI tools can simplify video creation and lead to win-win collaborations between developers and storytellers.
